Evaluation generally refers to “a professional and appropriate assessment of a matter. [In psychology and other human sciences [evaluation] is an umbrella term for all types of assessment according to defined standards, e.g. socio-cultural norms or scientific criteria. In psychotherapy, for example, evaluation means the assessment of the effectiveness of a therapeutic procedure, … in educational psychology, the assessment of the success of an exercise strategy, a learning program or a certain procedure in teaching …” (Freely translated from German in reference to Brockhaus – Psychology, 2001, p. 152)
